We are making the big move in mid-September and only bringing our essentials (dogs, clothes and surfboards!) initially and will have the rest of our stuff sent to us once we have a place to live.

We only have a few large storage bins with some photos, books and a few sentimental things as well as some winter gear (no large furniture). It is not worth us paying to ship a container as we would never fill it up to make the cost worthwhile.

Just thought I would check in case anybody is shipping to NZ from British Columbia or the Northwest States in the next few months. We would of course pay towards the cost of your shipping as this would make it cheaper for us rather than shipping each box individually.

None of this stuff is needed right away so we aren't on any specific timeline.

Thanks!

You know you don't have to fill a container right? You can ship your stuff as part of a container and the shipping company very quickly finds someone else going to NZ and fills up the container. We did that and it meant it took a little longer, (we got our stuff in 2.5 months instead of 1.5 months) but worked fine for us. However our shipping company, (Headway, out of Victoria and Vancouver) had a price fo 50 cu fee minimum, but we were surprised how quickly we got to 50 cu feet, and we didnt bring furniture either.
where did you decid to quarantine the dogs?
