Well we left the house on Thursday and I felt surprisingly unemotional considering how much I loved it there. As soon as it was emptied of our belongings it ceased to be a home and became simply a house. I cried a few tears driving out of the village but not many which definitely surprised OH who thought I'd be an emotional wreck. Just had a couple of days at my Mum's and I didn't even cry much leaving her or my Brother. I feel really heartless but I think I've gone through most of the emotional stuff months ago and just feel so ready now for what lies ahead. We now have 4 days at the in-laws before flying on Friday. Looking forward to a bit if relaxation in Singapore before the onward trip and will arrive in Christchurch on 15th and Nelson (yippee) on 16th for the start of our new life.
Don't know how I'll feel when we leave here on Friday - perhaps the tears will hit me big time at some stage but I still feel so calm - I've surprised even myself considering I'm normally so emotional.

Good luck to you and your family. I wish you well. :nice1
OH started his journey tonight, flying from Heathrow, via Singapore, and arriving New Zealand on Tuesday. He will be based in Christchurch, only sorted out his B and B yesterday, and when he arrives will start looking for a job.
He only finished working on our house at 2.00 am this morning, can't believe how fast the last 6 weeks have flown since he packed his job in.
I have done nothing but cry all day, wish we could have all gone over together, but hopefully he will be back in November to collect me and our son, to start our new life together in New Zealand, I can't wait.
Best wishes, Jeanette.

Are you still going on about that flag??!!! :laugh
Good luck the zorbsters, have a safe flight down here.
The emotional rollercoaster affects us all in different ways, don't try to label yourself just because you did this or that, or didn't cry as you "should" have.
All our wishes to you from the Dolan clan in Cambridge xx

Well, we're sitting here sipping champagne & eating choccies on our final night at in-laws. Leave for Singapore at 10am tomorrow morning for some much needed R&R. Won't be posting for a while now as holiday home has no internet access but will hopefully find time to find an internet cafe at some stage.
Thanks for all the advice, encouragement & good wishes from all on this wonderful forum and hopefully meet up with some of you down under.
