I am trying to organise a weekend away to a spa and enjoy massages and beauty treatments with no kids or husband wondering where their dinners are :laugh Ive looked on google and can find various places that provide treatments but no overnight stay or I found hotels that offer extorionate prices for everything. I just wanna go somewhere I can mill around in a big fluffy robe and pop off for a massage or pedicure etc etc. Can any of u recommend such a place, within about an hr or 2 drive from Hamilton ideally.

All suggestions welcome.

I think you need to nip over to Rotorua.... thats got to be the best location I would have thought for what you want, and there are certainly no shortage of spas... (or hotels)

We stayed in the Millenium hotel, which does have a spa, but is also pretty much next door to the Polynesian Spa, they currently have a special of $159 a night inc brekky and a lunchtime pizza snack!

I agree with Jubjub.
Rotorua offer everything what you are looking for.
Just don't go to the local clinic spa, they are not that good.
Polynesian Spa is the best.

Spa du Vin is nice - I went on a work conference at Hotel du Vin, and then stayed on for an extra day at the spa afterwards. It's about an hour north east of Hamilton.
