We have a small-medium quantity of stuff we might want to ship back to the USA (West Coast). One small 3-pc suite, a pile of linens, some garden tools, plus assorted cardboard boxes of stuff such as CDs/clothes.

Always assuming we do our basic math first in terms of whether it's worth the value of those goods to ship at all, does anyone have any advice about which service/technique to use?

What we don't need or want to do is spend thousands on a regular 'relocation' shipping crate. But nor is it tiny enough an amount just to rely on surface-mailed boxes.

Our small budget for this far outweighs speed of delivery, by the way.

Any tips? Thanks.

I have sent a huge box (tes chest size) back to the UK for about $200. This was as sea freight, it would have been double that by air. (I think the box was about 30kg.)
I used Seven Seas for this, but there are other similar companies. I imagine it would be cheaper to the US as well, as it's only half the distance...

Thank you, Kerry. Will look into these ideas. Thanks again.

Sell anything that's not sentimental or irreplaceable. It's not likely to be worth more outside of NZ.
