Anger time!

I have spent considerable time on the telephone to this bunch of incompetents, who, it has to be said, are not to be trusted with your mail or money.

Word of warning for all those with mail diversion. Do NOT trust the online renewal "service" - it doesn't work and the system loses or doesn't register the information that it gives you when you "renew" online. It is a joke and you just end up spending more time and money on the phone, having to provide "evidence" for them, and chase up your bank for statement (which don't arrive because the diversion has failed )

I have had it up to the eyeballs with them. The way it is now they should be paying me to divert the mail after the amount of mistakes they have made.

So, let the buyer beware. Hope this helps others avoid what we have had to go through. I now have to provide copy statements, evidence, and just about do all the work for them so that I can get my mail and refunds. What is going to happen to the mail that is delivered to the old address? Well that depends on the person who lives there now sir!! Aaaaarrgggghhhhhhh

Mr Angry from Cambridge :mad::mad::mad:

Calm Down. its only a commercial.

Thanks for the warning, just looking at our redirection, considering whether to send to Kim's mum and let her forward anything important, or redirect to NZ.

also how long to redirect for, I think the important date to get past in Christmas, don't want to miss all those cards!!

:( that sucks. royal mail seems to be fairly rotten doesnt it? my partner worked for the irish post system for ten years and whilst they themselves had/have problems, a lot of them were caused from royal mail's consistent delays in getting mail over the irish sea..and im sure we all saw the doco of all the mail sorters helping themselves to peoples mail :no

Stevie,
Royal mail is going down hill so fast it is unbelievable. They are at the moment holding instant strikes without warning in our area. Last week we had 2. We have lost a lot of post including signed for post. We just don't receive it. We will do everything we can to ensure most of the firms we deal with have our new address, then I will get our post redirected to my parents address, get them to open it and deal with it then. Anything important they can scan it to us.
Tenants of ours moved out 5weeks ago and paid to have their post redirected and we are still getting it delivered. When they spoke to Royal Mail they said because of the strike action they were unable to guarantee redirections.
A friend of ours sent us a letter 4 weeks ago 1st class and it arrived today.
So you may get your post at this rate in 5 years time. Sorry to give you such dire news.
I'd better make this a bit clearer. Its the UK I am talking about as we have 2 addresses at the moment.

Regards

Dave and Caroline

Our mail forwarding is going ok so far but we haven't got to the stage of renewing it. There is one complaint is that we only asked for our mail to be forward under one surname. However they are also forwarding all mail in my maiden name, not sure how they worked this out as we didn't put in on the form. Anyway as this is mostly junk mail and we get all our mail forwarded to a private box we are paying to get junk mail forwarded, big of a pain!!!!

I am loathed to complain as it might stuff everything up, we just hope we don't start to get out tenants mail from the UK!!!

Hope you get it all sorted Steve.

I'm afraid I can't say I'm surprised.

Since we moved last time....4yrs ago. Our mail has consistently not been redirected then when you complain you get a book of first class stamps WOW!
Now our mail at this address is returned to sender marked "gone away", which lead to our bank account being frozen and us spending half an hour trying to persuade our bank that we really were at that addy and yes it was correct, has been chucked over the wall at the side of the house when no-one is in and it won't fit through the letterbox or even opened and put through the letterbox in bits followed by the neatly folded cardboard box etc etc.

I give in. There is no point complaining as the post office really don't give a monkeys and the independant postwatch are a joke.

If all the strikes recently are pay related I'd say they don't deserve a pay rise until the improve the service.

Now I have calmed down a bit..... :laugh

Yes, no surprise at all. It just goes to show what we all think, that the RM is a dinosaur on is last legs.

I have had mail, but there have been the problems of stuff arriving really late, and by the time you get to actioning it, you have been penalised for missing the deadlines!! So frustrating.

And what use is a book of first class stamps to me in NZ :laugh

Guess we'll just have to see what comes out in the wash, but I was just warning about the internet side and renewals. Be better to phone up on Skype and pay over the phone if you can. That way at least they have records of the transaction, with internet transactions they have no record at all which is worrying.
