For anyone whose interested, I've just posted some photographs of our trip to NZ (and the HK layover on the way back) on my blog - link below. Just click on the photographs if you want a (much!) bigger version.

What a great blog, really informative and your photos are fantastic, can I be cheeky and ask what price range the houses you we're looking at are in??( roughly)

We've made the decision to have a mortgage when we get there and have our (hopefully!) dream house. The houses we were generally looking at were in the $500K to $700K range, mostly because of their desirable locations.
Thanks for your kind comments about the blog! :o

mmmm, thought they looked fab!! Think we may have to get a mortgage also, to get the house we want, hope you get your dream house!

PS- Glad you didn't put an offer in on the house you we're looking at on the internet...think some estate agents have selective memory regarding distances if it means a house sale!

Was it the 'Orbit' restaurant you dined in at the Sky Tower?
Did you have to book lunch in advance?
It is on our 'wish list' in October and I'd rather be prepared than disappointed.
By the way your photographs are excellent! :clap :clap :clap
Kind regards

Yes, it was the Orbit. We just pitched up at lunchtime thinking we'd be out of luck but the place was only about 20% occupied. We got the passes from the desk in the basement, then straight up. You also get access to the Observation Deck afterwards.
Thanks for the complement about the photo's. I didn't take my main camera this time as we were only planning on looking at houses etc, not sightseeing. I look at them and see the distortions at the edges, the narrow focal range, etc. Not terribly impressed with the camera, but I did get it free with Boots points!

Thanks for confirming that, it's going on 'the list'. :exit
And your photo's don't have to be perfect for people like me to appreciate the content - brill! :)
