Well we sold our house four weeks ago. We were ready to exchange but today the bottom of the chain has lost there buyer.
We don’t know weather to put our house back on the market or to wait for them to get another buyer?? We were planning to be out there some time in September (hadn’t booked flights) but this is looking unlikely. We are heading for the south island Christchurch or Dunedin not really sure yet very vague but we cant get any accommodation at the moment in either. No we have never been before. I think we must be mad!!

Hi Clare and Welcome.
There are many people on here who had never been to New Zealand before coming over. We are one of those and we are loving it.
Even if you came over for a recce you do not take in everything NZ is about. Thats where this forum is a great help to everyone.
We wish you all the best in your future.
Kindest regards
Dave and Caroline

Your not mad...well if you are their are a few more of us, we haven't visited either...you should visit the 'anyone on the market' thread, theres lots of posts and advice there about houses and selling etc!!
What end of the market is the house that has fallen through? Is it likely to sell again quickly? ie...lower end of market? Are you still accepting viewers now?

Hi no we have said we will give them another seven days. They are the bottom of the market.
We have both been saying today maybe it a sign that we should'nt go??

Clare,
Now the time is getting closer for us to go, I could probably say most things on a daily basis maybe a sign not to go!! BUT they're not, its just life, if you weren't planning on going to NZ, you'd probably just think 'oh well', they'll get another buyer...its really easy to start thinking 'maybe its a sign'...I had a car accident last year, and we couldnt go and get our visas stamped as I wasn't able to travel for over 12 months...I could have thought, 'it was meant to be, we should have stayed here', but actually, when my visa expired and there was nothing I could do about it, I felt so suffocated and it made me fight to get it back, and realise our goal of getting to NZ.
Remember these things are sent to try us!

Hi Clare. I now know your story ignore my other thread. Hope you get sold up soon. I agree with Jade. It isn't a sign to not go. These things happen, anyway, how would you feel at 50 if you didn't give it a go?

You are not mad at all...loads of us came over here without visiting first. We came over with 3 small children (not quite as many as you). Came over in Winter....wanted to see country at it's worst, as it can only get better. And...we are loving it here:) How old are your children?

Hi Clare & family,
Welcome to the forum and good luck sorting out your house.
Where abouts in Herts are you? The OH & I were from St Albans, but now in Auckland.
Also, have you been to NZ before? Not trying to be nosy, just friendly and interested. :nice1

Hey, cool. Royston is nice. My cousin used to live there, but she's moved to Hitchen now.
See you around on the forum. :cheers

I'm curious. Why Chch or Dunedin? When I left England I promised myself I would live somewhere I never have to scrape frost off a windscreen. What are you hoping for?
