Can anyone help....

I am looking for some good places in Wellington CBD to buy my lunch from, on the days I don't make my own.

There does not seem to be a whole lot of choice.

I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet but I've heard good things about Kapai Cafe (http://kapaisalads.co.nz/) on Lambton Quay. They don't do exclusively vegetarian but there should be lots of veg. choices.

There's also a restaurant in the Old Bank Arcade called "Higher Taste" which is an Indian vegetarian buffet - you pay between $7 - $12 for a small or large plate of whatever items they have on the buffet that day. We thought it was pretty good, but a little bland - it's run by the Krishnas & they don't believe in using onions or garlic in their cooking.

When I was just looking up how to spell "Kapai" I found this page on Wellington vegetarian-friendly restaurants, though they have the old address for Higher Taste so I don't know how updated it is:

You can go online to Happy Cow's Vegetarian Guide and Health Food Stores.

:clap

HappyCow's vegetarian restaurants guide is a global, searchable vegetarian dining guide and directory of natural health food stores. Click on " Australia and Oceania" then New Zealand then the region: Wellington.

When I tried it, I got a list of five restaurants and two health food stores.

Good luck. I'll be there in just over a month looking for veggie places, too!
