I work at one of the government agencies in Wellington and thought I'd share an opportunity that might help someone make the transition into NZ easier.
My work group is looking for someone to fill in as an Executive Assistant for about 2 months. Not a glamorous job by any means but I can highly recommend the organization and the managers in our group. Its a nice bunch of people and the job (as far as I can tell) could be tailored to fit someone's background and experience although they'd be thrilled with accounting or a least numbers experience.
I know finding the first NZ job can be tough (it took me about 3 months) so I thought it might be a good chance to have an income AND an understanding boss while you are job hunting.
The catch is that you have to be at least a Permanant Resident because of the security check needed (just a Police check I think). Non-residents would take too long to be cleared.
Anyhow, send me a PM if you are interested and I'll get you in touch with the right people to talk to. Act fast though, not sure how long it'll take for them to find someone.
