Does anybody have any recommendations for a good doctor in Wales for the medical?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Adele

Hi
We had our done last Thurs and went to Bristol for them. Reason being you have to have your x-ray first and they then send the radiograph to the Dr who then does your medical. We didn't want to be running up and down the M4 to Cardiff having days off work for it so the Bristol people we used did it all on the one day. The Dr. didn't mind doing it without the x-rays and will wait until the x-rays come to finish the paperwork.

We used Litfield House Medical Centre for the x-rays 0117 973 6275 ext 210 cost £50 each

Southville Surgery for the medicals £85 each - but they don't do the blood work here. You have to go to Nuffield Hospital to get that done....approx. £124per person.

They were nice and simple to get to too which is just as well 'cause I'm back there tomorrow to get my bloods done as I need a fasting glucose and lipids done :roll

Hi Adele.
Welcome to the forum,
I am not sure if you know this but you have to use one of the doctors on the NZ Panel list
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templates/Content/ListsPopup.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2fmigrant%2fstream%2flive%2ffamilyq uota%2fLinkAdministration%2fToolboxLinks%2fPanelDo ctors%2ehtm%3flevel%3d1&NRNODEGUID=%7b2559D1DF-F524-4AB4-90C0-48C124A76D07%7d&NRCACHEHINT=Guest&level=1

Just type in Wales and you will see their aren't that many. Maybe someone will come up who has used one of these doctors.
Of course if you fancied a trip out somewhere or were staying with relatives elsewhere there is nothing stopping using any Doctor in the UK as long as they are on the list.We know a great Doctor in Harley ST London but that is probably too far for you.
I am afraid thats all the help I can be at the moment

Kind regards

Dave and Caroline

Adele,
We were living in Cardiff but found that all the panel docs were really expensive there, plus had to book ages in advance, so we ended up going to Manchester (honest!). Even staying over night in a Travel Lodge, with petrol, it was cheaper for 2 adults and four kids (one aged 17, so bloods involved) by a cool £500!! That was in 1995 though. Do shop around!

Hi Adele

Where abouts are you in Wales?

We are based in Newport South Wales and used a very nice doctor called Dr Palmer who is based at Ty Bryn Surgery, Trethomas - Tel: 029 20 868011
We then had our Xrays done at Bupa.

Hope this helps.

Still very expensive in Cardiff. we went to Gloucester - not as cheap as we would have liked but XRays at hospital then over to Dr's surgery all on the same day. Shrewsbury xrays were cheaper but meds more expensive. Phone around - price them up and make a day of it
