Greetings from rainy Cape Town, South Africa!

My girlfriend and I recently watched a DVD (by Protea Pacific) on New Zealand. That instantly sparked a huge interest for us in New Zealand. It looks like a fantastic country and we're really considering moving there. It's still early days, but I believe it's good to get the ball rolling and get all the information so we can make an informed decision and the easiest move possible.

I'm a 25-year-old computer programmer with a number of years experience in IT.

My girlfriend, Erna, has just completed a 4-year degree in graphic design.

There's a lot of questions on the way and we look forward to interacting with everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with everything - as a fellow S African (living in the UK) I can tell you that NZ compares really well. Lots of similarities e.g. wide open spaces, stunning scenery, but far less of the problems like crime, tension, poverty. Not saying NZ doesn't have problems but they are certainly a lot less obvious. We can't wait to get there!
