I almost forgot to tell people. Hope this puts a smile on your face, as I suppose it's what most on this site are hoping for.
When I arrived at passport control in NZ, I handed over my passport with a nice shiny new recidence visa in it. I was asked if this was my first time into the country with residency, and I replied that it was.
The reply..... " Welcome HOME Sir.."
:nice1 Hope you all get the same treatment

it was a different comment the guy on the passport control said to me quoting his actual words: "another pom to keep my car off the road" :uhoh
he had seen my work visa and saw that i am working for a vehicle testing station doing WOF's
i wasnt sure how to take it so just smiled at him, I didnt want to be deported before i had at least seen the outside of the airport

Better than the welcome into UK I got last time.
A big bearded turban wearing Hindu type customs officer chappy asking me what the purpose of my visit was?
"Mortgage to pay, wife and kids to feed matey, and yours?"
He didn't really like stamping my passport much after that retort methinks!! :cheers

It made me shudder. You can rest assured you will not ever get that sort of comment on arrival in UK, no matter which port you come through.
PB, you make me laugh you do. :laugh :laugh
Steve R, methinks you MAY need to check out the kiwi humour thread mate.

If I were you I would first get out of the airport and take a deep breath of NZ air... then login later.

Thank you for your kind words people, just sayin' it the way I see it!
-and in the words of a Neil Young song..........
"When you see the Southern Cross for the first time,
You understand now why you came this way.
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from is so small,
But it's as big as the promise, the promise of a comin' day"
Appropriate sentiment for all us dreamers innit.............
