Hi all,

I would just like to introduce myself to the forum.

I have been reading a lot of the posts with avid interest over the last week.
My OH and I are contemplating moving to New Zealand and what I have read so far is very enticing, though we still haven't made up our minds completely.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am sure I will have lots of questions soon enough :yes

It's just the two of us, no kids and we've not been to New Zealand yet. We would like to go visit before we decide but don't have enough time off at the moment.

I think there are some things we will like without even needing to go and check such as the breathtaking scenery and smaller population base! Still, taking the plunge without visiting may be very risky. Did any of you decide to emigrate without visiting first?

Hi Gary.
There are quite a few of us on here who have emigrated to New Zealand without ever visiting. Not only did we not visit, we bought some land, a car and arranged our builders before we set foot on NZ soil though I wouldn't reccomend doing what we did unless you have a good team based in NZ. We had several good contacts. Although we haven't been over that long we don't regret it at all.

Just wanted to add welcome from us too! We haven't visited NZ although have a few friends who live there and are about to make the move in November - leap of faith required! :)

We also had not visited prior to arriving here. We arrived here 3 months ago with our 3 small children, and do not regret it at all:) . I would advise doing very thorough research before you arrive. How you find NZ will depend alot on what you make of it.
