So here we are ...... 22 hours from our flight and 9 months from our decision to emigrate. Cannot believe where the time has gone, the highs and the lows. The support from all you forumites has been FANTASTIC and for that we send a HUGE thank you :cheers

Nearly all the goodbyes done, tears shed and sweaty hand shakes exchanged.

Spent most of this evening juggling clothes around to meet baggage allowance so will be appearing at 'chickin disk' resembling two very large michelin men . If only it was the clothes and not the excess pounds gained from all the leaving dinners .... though very tasty they were too.

Stomach slightly tightening now at what we are about to embark on but suspect its mostly nervous excitement. Those of you who have been through it will know exactly how we are feeling.

Will we be sorry to leave UK ..... some good , some bad but sorry to leave good friends and family .... but looking forward to making other new good friends too :nice1

See you when we get there :raebanana

Have a great trip, I think the worst bit for me was that final goodbye before we left for the airport. We went to the airport alone in a taxi as I didn't want the final fair well at the airport. Saying goodbye and getting in the taxi was very upsetting, a quick gin after check in to calm the nerves did the job.

Let the adventure begin.

Jo :clap

Hi Ben and Clare,

Isn't it hard to sort out the baggage allowance thing ? We ended up sending off two boxes through the post because it was just too much and we still ended up overweight ! Thank goodness for the kind people of Singapore Airlines who didn't give us too hard a time of it :clap !

Best of luck for a smooth journey and enjoy your new life in NZ :nice1 !
