About the "skilled employment" and "offer of skilled employment".

I am trying to get in on an "offer". I have no skilled employment in my past, and none in NZ (I am a fairly recent graduate). I score 140 points based on: Age, Basic Qualification, Offer of Skilled Employment and Outside Auckland BP.

Section E1 is easy, I am claiming points for an offer.

E2-E6 is one page and it asks me about my "main employment" and all the details about it, why is it skilled, where is it etc etc

I was going to start putting in all the details of my "offer", but there is a note saying:

PLEASE NOTE: Your main occupation in New Zealand is the job you spent the most hours doing while in New Zealand. If you have not worked in New Zealand you should not complete any of section E in this form.

I have NOT worked in NZ, so I am apparently not meant to answer any questions from E2-E6. But that seems a bit odd. Surely they would want to know the details of my "offer"? But because I've not worked in NZ I am not meant to answer anything on that page...

then E7:

Is your skilled employment outside Auckland?

Well, my OFFER is outside Auckland. And I know that you can claim bonus points for an OFFER outside Auckland (this is defined elsewhere). But here they are not asking about an "offer", they are asking about "skilled employment". This is important to me because by neglecting to mention the "offer" in this question it makes me wonder whether they accidentally left it out of E2-E6?

Anyway, that's a lot of babble. But the question is quick :)

Should I fill in the details of the OFFER from E2-E6? My instinct says yes, otherwise it would seem a bit absurd them not wanting any details about it. But the "PLEASE NOTE" part has explicitly told me NOT to answer any questions from E2-E6. This is why I am confused.

Thanks :)

I think since you will be providing written proof of the offer, you needn't worry about putting in on the form in detail.

I have no idea how the handle the fact that you have no employment history at all though.

Have you considered a WHV (working holiday visa) if you are young enough?

I think (I could be wrong) that what you are referring to is asking about your previous or current job experience in NZ or otherwise. This is to get points per year for relevant job experience.
Since you have no experience I wouldn't worry about it too much. Or if you do, put down why/how the job helped you learn skills valuable to your impending skilled employment.

I don't have an offer myself so I'm not sure how they handle that, or even what section it is. It seems it would have its own section?
Perhaps they want the name of the company and some contact information so they can follow up on that themselves, or during the ITA you will need to provide the offer letter.

I ignored the please note - dont complete section E bit - and just put in details of the job offer, BUT I haven't completed the application yet so not sure what will happen. If you are young then I would try the WHV route as recommended by tigerlily...
Good Luck

For not having an employment history (I do, but definitely nothing skilled, relevant or anything I can claim points on), I just selected None of the Above in the mandatory fields under Recognised Work Experience. I don't need points from work experience anyway.
I'm already on a WHV, and I could extend it by an extra year, but WHV's do not allow you to undertake permanent employment. What I have is a firm offer of permanent skilled employment for several years, hence a WHV would be no good in this case.

"Recognised Work Experience" is a separate section, these questions are under "Skilled Employment". E1 (in that section) has an option for "Offer of skilled employment in New Zealand" but it doesn't ask anything else beyond that pertaining to the offer itself.
Nothing seems to add up on E2 to E6, since there are several *mandatory* fields, but then there's that explicit statement telling me not to fill anything in?
There's no doubt they'll want the information in ITA in writing, I just want this EOI part to go smoothly as possible.

Cheers
