I'm hooked on Sky+ and hoped NZ would have something similar to enable me to record all the football I'm going to miss when I live there. A quick scan of the website has dashed these hopes :( However...I can get a HDD or PVR (personal video recorder) in the UK which would do this job perfectly. My question is...has anybody else taken a HDD or PVR with them from the UK and does it work with SKY in NZ?

Cheers

SkyNZ has MySky which is a PVR

We have had it for about a year and a half now, works fine. Once you get used to one of these it is hard to go back. Next year there will be a PVR option available on Sony PS3 with Freeview so that will be another option.

As said by clg, in NZ Sky+ is called MySky.

It's very similar interface, 80GB drive with dual tuners etc.

Not as many channels as in the UK but still the sports.

Also note that its a one off purchase of the box ($599) with no continuing subscription charges for this service, you still obviously need to subscribe to Sky but you don't need to pay an additional amount per month or take premium channels.

And Sky+ box from the UK is NOT compatible in NZ.

Woo Hoo...thanks guys!
Its funny...I didn't think I would ever need something like that until I actually used Sky+. Now I couldn't live without it!
Cheers!
