Just confirming whether anybody knows for sure that we need to submit fingerprints for a PR application from Canada based on partnership. My husband is arriving on a 2 year work visa and I have aussie passport so he can apply for PR immediately after our arrival. He as submitted a police clearance with his visa application but we just learned that he may need a new one with fingerprint clearance for PR.
Has anybody been through this application as a Canadian?
thank you!

I submitted the police clearance form from the RCMP. they did not ask for fingerprints and neither did NZIS when I submitted my PR (partnership) application. I was specifically advised (by NZIS) to get my clearance done by the RCMP while I was in Canada as it is taking months to get it from Canada if you are already in NZ. so I went to the RCMP office and they gave me my clearance while I waited. it took 10 minutes. no fingerprints. honest

that's great news. I suspected we might just need to do this. We already submitted one with our visa application but it will not be current within 3 months so I think we can just get another one on the spot from our local branch and that should do it.
thx.

I didn't go the partnership route, but I had to submit fingerprints to the RCMP and my understanding is because I submitted my request for the record check from RCMP from outside of Canada (USA) so I couldn't do it in person.
