Hi there,

Yes, the time has come again for us lot north of the border to meet up and discuss the finer points of immigration ........ Oh and also have a drink or 2!

I was thinking of Saturday 29th Jan at 1pm ? How does that suit people ? Is Las Tasca in Edinburgh (West End) OK again ?

Any suggestions for dates/times/venue are most welcome :P

Should be good as there's lots to talk about what with quite a few people receiving ITA and even a few people heading off for NZ quite soon!

:cheers

Let me know what you think.

Hi Milliemoo

Peter and I will be there. Feel free to bore us with wedding plans as we are in full swing on that to. It is amazing the way little details cause the most hassle.

I see from another thread that John is still here, is he coming along as well.

See you next Saturday :hopeso

Hello, yes, still here.

I've been holding back from committing until I was certain I could make it. The house is on the market and weekends are busy viewing times as I'm sure you'll appreciate. We hope to have a suitable offer sometime next week, if that proves to be the case then I should manage along.

What do you mean you won't have your kids with you?! If I'm coming it will be with my insane seven year old! I was hoping she could annoy your boys!

[Puts head in hands despairingly]

I'll let you know one way or t'other as soon as I can.

John.

P.S. Does anyone have a digital camera to appease Moorf?

Nicola

Hi John

I am sure your seven year old is not insane. But the thought of my elder two being annoyed by her is quite appealing. But for the sake of my purse I think they are better left behind, I seem to end up spending a fortune every time I am in Edinburgh with them.

I will keep :hopeso that you get good news on the house front. I think we might have sold ours by a very strange route.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Nicola

Don't think we'l be able to make it - hope you all have a good time. Thought some of you might be interested in this

Just turned down an offer on the house - considerably short of what we're looking for - so it's back to a waiting game - and things still seem pretty slow over on the west coast. Maybe they'll pcik up now we've had some sun!

Got a shock when my national police check came back asking additional questions! I'm sure I'm not a criminal! Husband who had a small breach of the peace 20 odd years ago cam back a few days ago with a clean bill of health. Fingers crossed!!!!

Best wishes

ooooohhhhhhhh Margaret...what have you been up to! :laugh :laugh :laugh

Shame about the house....did they know you were moving overseas? Maybe they were trying their luck with a silly offer.

Milliemoo

That will teach me for winding up hubby because my Scottish Police Check form came back three days before his! I think the problem may be that there was a case in the media last year where a woman was convicted of murder - who had the same name as me!
I now think I'm being harrassed by New Scotland Yard as I got another letter in from them today requesting the same information! They really must think I'm a criminal - and me with nothing more than 3 penalty points for speeding almost 6 years ago and even though I was 8 and a half months pregnant I didn't play the 'I got contractions' one on them.

:hopeso Fingers crossed it's nothing more sinister.

Don't know if the pospective buyers were just coming it - but we can sit tight for while yet and I'm confident :? well hopeful that things will start to pick up in the next few weeks.

Regards

Margaret

Hiya,

Yes, hope everyone is OK for Saturday. Just to confirm it's at La Tasca again (West End) at 1pm. Table booked in the name of McLean (although last time ours was the only reserved table in the restaurant  )

Not too sure on numbers, hopefully people will post to confirm over the next couple of days.

Yeah I know, what a day - Ray Liotta was brillant on ER. That quiet night in was one of my better decisions.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Looking forward to tomorrow, see you all there,

John.
