We sold our house today. No estate agents; not even a removel van. The lady that came and asked us if we wanted to sell back in May after her other house purchase fell though has come up with the goods and bought it. The best bit is we're staying here until the end of October when the foal is weaned and can move to his new owner (he's sold too - busines class tickets for us hoorah!) - then we move to her rented bungalow down the hill and she moves in here. It's given the solicitors the heebee-geebees but who cares? We're all happy - and the rent is a third of my now ex-mortgage.
The only fly in the ointment is that the letter back from NZIS acknowledging receipt of application says is could be 4 months before we even get a case officer and then another couple of months after that. Unless a job offer comes up in the meantime. But that's another post.

Thanks SarahEDH. One small point though...I'm afraid I'd have to contest your claim to being David Cassidy's no.1 fan. My one and only true love:exit

No way, he's mine and I won't share :laugh If you really love David, I have to ask -- do you drive around playing his CDs, with your car windows down, and singing along at the top of your lungs? Even if people stop on the street and look at you? Do you wish you had a time machine, to go back to the 70s and see him concert, like, over and over . . .
He's my dream man. I simply cannot believe I was born too late to have a shot at him :wah
Hey! Let's join the NZ chapter of David's fan club, or start one ourselves. I'm totally serious.

My friend Diane and i ate absolute bags full of Golden Wonder crisps to get enormous posters for our walls. But I was 10 at the time.

Bit late but landline at home is down until Wednesday (there's 21st century technology for you). Back at work now so can get on-line again and no, I don't drive around with DC's songs blaring out but i have painted two bedrooms with non-stop DC on.
And I do know how to spell removal - I only just spotted the mistake myself now I have my teacher head back on.
Still wondering where we're going to live though.

I'm guessing that the two bedrooms decorated with David C. are from past residences and not the one you just sold :laugh
(but it would be really fun to hear that they ARE in your current house!)

I meant decorated with DC's music playing not Actually decorated with DC himself! :laugh They're doing reruns of the Partridge Family on TV here at the moment. I have to admit that I tend to view them with a historical perspective now. I find it hilarious that I can't remember any of the storylines (if that's what they were!) because all I was interested in was watching DC and loathing Susan Dey for being so close.
I can't believe I'm writing this.
