Hi, we are moving out to NZ on 11th September on a general work visa, and have now noticed that the transport company OH is going to work for is no longer on the "Accredited" list???? Can anyone tell me if we now have to get another Accredited Co to work for? or can we carry on working for the original employer as stated on the visa?
Thanks Carol

Maundy, who is the company? did you get the offer on the pretext that the company in question was on the list? does your passport hold a WTR visa, or a general WP?

Once i have answers to those 3 questions then i may be able to help further.

On the NZIS site where they link to the list on this page (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/worktoresidence/caniworkinnz/accreditedemployersrequirements.htm) they say that it's the list of Accredited Employers "who have agreed to make their status public." Perhaps they are no longer agreeing to be on the list but are still accredited?

Also see this page (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/generalinformation/qanda/talentchanges30july.htm)... changes were just made that might have caused your company to not be an Accredited Employer in future (if they won't offer a salary of at least $50,000), but if your app. was in before July 30 - and it sounds like it certainly was - then NZIS says it should not affect you.

Just possibilities... I'd talk to the company if possible.

(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that if you went through the WTR stream and your accredited employer was alright with NZIS at the time your application was accepted, that a change in the accredited status of the company after the visa was issued would not affect you.)

I think it does affect you:
"I came to New Zealand to work for an accredited employer. My employer has not renewed their accreditation, what does this mean for me?
If your work permit is provided under our Work to Residence Talent (Accredited Employers) category, you’ll need to find employment with another New Zealand accredited employer. Otherwise you’ll not be eligible to apply for residence."

Strange, if it is the WTR visa then according to NZIS

b. during the currency of that visa and permit they have been employed in New Zealand throughout a period of 24 months:

i. by any accredited employer*; or

ii by an employer(s) who is not an accredited employer* provided, during the period of that employment the conditions of the applicant's visa and permit were varied to allow them to work for that employer(s)

Which implies (to me at least) that you can get the visa varied to allow you to work for a non accredited employer (no doubt under certain circumstances).
