I recently won an ENZ T-shirt and I have decided to send it off on a journey.

If you receive the T-shirt please sign with your name, arrival date and location. Then take a photo of it, or you in it, somewhere in NZ, whether it be jumping off the sky tower or outside your local dairy. Please post the photo on this thread and pass it on to another forum member.

It has started its journey at an ENZ meet in Auckland and hopefully the Hodges will post my photo with the T-shirt later :nice1 . Followed by their photo and so on and so on ...........

I'm still beaming from our afternoon at Marie's. It was absolutely fantastic to finally meet up with people I've know-un for years (had to put that in for Marcia :D ), their partners and their kids. Amazing, it was like meeting up with old friends.

Sincerely hope we all get to meet again soon and, of course, if you're in the area give us a bell (and we're booking Dave in to the Two Fat Indians when he's down in Chch!).

Oh.. and we both think Auckland is great :yes , I don't like cities much but as far as they go, Auckland has gotta be up there with the best.. can't wait to explore the place more.

Nice to be home though ;)

In the meantime I shall be busy getting the ENZ t-shirt around to the Canterbury gang - yep, the t-shirt has landed in the South Island!!

I had a chat to the T-shirt before I sent it on its merry way and it told me that if it ever got to the south island it would like to:

1) Go Whale Watching
2) Visit Franz Josef Glacier
3) Visit a vineyard
4) Go on a tram in Christchurch

It is purely a coincidence that i would like to do these things also!

On a more everyday note it would like to:

1) Visit your local bar/cafe/restaurant
2) Have a photo at your place of work
3) See your local high street
4) Be pictured next to something that you've only ever done in NZ (nothing rude please! :p )

I'm looking forward to its South Island trip!

OK, Now sorry for not posting - but with Internet issues and no help in searching for the thread I was stuck - now here is a pic of the t-shirt with Me, it went on the cavalcade - but it was too mucky and wet for a pic on the horse - I did not think the t-shirt would appreciate smelling of horsey:D

I then took it to Wiki's when we went to the Theatre Resturant - so its having adventures at the Southland Times at present...

So here is the pic of me - a bit windswept - it was windy too:o the Southland weather is playing its predictable joke on visitors this week - after last weeks heatwave - we have now had a week of rain.

The trekers from Downaccrossup have arrived, the horses are now mud coloured after rolling in the paddocks - and the riders have gone off to tour Invercargill while I set up the BBQ in a sheltered spot so Rob doesn't get wet cooking tonights tea!:laugh

I am riding to Bluff with them and hopefully some other locals will join us.

I will post some pics later.

When it comes to the South island my geography is awful, in fact anything south of Auckland CBD is pretty much unknown to me. :o

It's outside the museum at Queens Park - inside they've got a tuatarium with the most successful tuatara breeding programme in NZ. Over 120 tuatara hatchings (if I recall rightly) and they've supplied pretty much every zoo and also released a lot onto predator-free islands.

The statue outside is modeled on Henry, a 120-year-old tuatara who is still going strong (but doesn't like girls much so isn't much use for breeding, but still has great character).

You can view the tuataras from both inside and outside the museum (glass walls to their enclosure)
