Hello,
Can anyone confirm if there is a limit on the number of pieces of luggage that can be checked into the hold for Singapore Air from the UK?
We have secured our extra weight allowance but looking on their website it doesnt specify the number of pieces of baggage unless your are flying from the states:confused:

Hi Helen and Phil,
I don't know about the pieces of luggage, but how did you get extra weight allowance and how much? On other threads on the forum people phoned or emailed SAL - what did you do? Any problems?
Thank you.

When we flew earlier this year, it was 2 pieces each for hold, but only 1 for the baby. But we also got pushchair aswell. Each piece was not allowed to be than a certain weight...35kg i think, but unless you are flying first class, you won't have that much anyway.

Bartons,
Yes we did the same as everyone else, initially we got the travel agent to speak to the airline and they confrimed it verbally, however having read posts on this thread we decided to get an emial confirmation from the airline to save hassle on the day. They ignored the first email we sent but we got a reply to the second attempt.
It is only an extra 10kg each but every little helps! you need to prove that you are meigrating to qualify for the extra allowance.
FOM,
Thanks for the reply, we read the info about max weight for each bag being 35kg but as we only have 30kg each for total allownce it seemd a bit strange (first class - I wish:laugh )

There were five of us and we checked in 8 pieces of luggage into the hold, (one was a big car seat!) no problems.
If you are unsure, email them to ask.
Just make sure you distribute the weight across your luggage, they really don't like anything over 32kg (I think!) I ended up repacking a couple of ours at home, moving some of the heavier items around - better to check them at home than have to start doing it at the check in desk! :yes
