How soon before your move would you suggest getting quotes for shipping your stuff?

Also if we went with a working visa as opposed to PR would we have to pay any taxes for importing our stuff?

We are in the process of obtaining 3 quotes at the moment. Have 1 so far. We hope to move Nov/Dec. I don't think it matters too much. Also it looks like most of hem need 2 weeks notice to move too. Not sure on the taxes - sorry!

I was reading your post about the kids getting upset about the move and it had me in pieces! My kids keep saying they don't want to go, I'm trying to play it down a bit until we have some definate dates :uhoh

I know Annette it is so difficult. It almost makes me want to reserve the decision but I'm sure when they will be fine in the end. We sort of drip fed it to them but they still cry on occasion. What ages are yours?

Mine are 8 and 6, they are more bothered about missing friends rather than family!

In particular the section entitled "When no customs charges apply"

If you are coming for permanent residence then no charges, this is also true if you have a WTR of 2 years or more. Not sure if it counts for a normal work visa?
