Sorry if this sounds silly, but will our digital radio work in NZ?

I understand that they are trialling DAB in Auckland only before rolling out to the rest of the country. It is an updated version on DAB called DAB+!! and by the sounds of it is not backward compatible. I hope that we will be able to use our existing radios.

At present Digital radios from UK are not compatible with the system they are trialing in NZ. See Stevie D's thread here

It does look like some digital radios bought in the UK may work in NZ when the time comes. But it seems a bit hit and miss.

Stevie D's thread on this was the reason I found this forum as I was searching the internet for the same answer. My OH had bought me a digital radio for christmas 2006 after lots of hints. We were just considering what to do with it when it broke, so we took it back to the shop and got our money back.

Oh well, maybe I will give it as a gift to a family member.
