Hello all, can you help with some information please.

My wife has previously worked as a secretary and up to the level of PA to the MD of a medium size company, but has not worked for 6 years due to children.
When we move to NZ she wants to get back into this work again, but...
any ideas about what computor systems used? Programs, etc.
Anybody work in this area?

IE - if we stayed in the UK, then she would take a simple 'back to work' type of refresher course. Is there such a thing in NZ? Current computor updates, etc.
If they are the same, then she can take the course before we leave, but there is no piont if systmes are different.

Thanks in advance for any help

I've just gone back to work after being away for 3 years. All the interviews I went for had the same sort of systems as the UK eg. Office, Sage etc. I've been working for 6 weeks now and so far haven't come across anything different. In the UK there is the ECDL (European Computer Driving License). Over here they do the ICDL (International Computer Driving License). As long as your wife is up to date with Office applications I wouldn't have thought she'd have too much problem.

Good luck.

Thanks, this is really a 2nd option if we don't get chosen.
We would just go and the 1st to get a job (neither of us are on the skills list) gets a WP and the other, I believe, will then get an open permit.
Once working, we can stay or get (again hopefully) sponsored by her sister.
Still hoping to be picked - last week went to 135 points - still quite a way off.:(
