After my experiences last month and the prospect of further flights ahead I decide to do a bit of research. Do any of these sound familiar?

We flew by Air New Zealand and was very pleased with the leg room, now i know why, seems to have the most amount of room, was annoyed about having no tv in the headrest but i thought that was coz we were on an older plane, maybe not, we picked them and the route (lax) because the baggage allowance was bigger, would fly with them again just not thro LA.

This is a good site to check leg room and the best seats on flights:

Sorry to say, but you were very unlucky not having one of the new 747's on that route, which have the personal TV's. Anyone flying UK2NZ via LAX or HK 'should' be on a refitted airus or 747.
Have been very pleased with Air NZ on our recent travels :nice1

I'd recommend Air NZ through LAX. Just normal economy class has 34" of legroom - loads of space to spread out.
Ok, the hassle of getting off, going through US customs and then getting back on is a pain but the extra leg room and baggage allowance more than make up for it.
We had the TV in the seats with video on demand and it was fab.
Flew out to NZ with BA/Qantas in cattle class via singapore and Sydney. talk about cramped!!! Knees stuck in the seat in front for the whole journey, not nice.
For the extra 50 quid or so I'd fly with Air NZ.

Welwynrose - great minds think alike. I shall spend every last expensive moment with the seat in full recline! Now, about this case officer I'm waiting for to go to the in-tray, blow the dust off my file and DO SOMETHING WITH IT:(
