You can buy them online here: http://www.ntolerance.co.nz/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=829

But they're pretty expensive!

Hi All - complete left flank question.....
My son is very alergic to cats and we always keep antihistmine and a ventolin inhaler with us at all times......"Mothers are like that"...LOL.

I need to know if this is readly available over the counter at a chemist or will I need to get a Drs script for med's, and can I bring supplies over with me???

Kindly
Nonneiy

we brought a good supply with us, and get friends to bring over the antihistamine from North America as its so much cheaper there. But it is available over the counter here . Not sure about the inhaler. you can get them here but might need a prescription. again we stocked up before we left .

Ventolin inhaler is prescription only. You can get anithistamines on prescription too....now subsidised so only $3 per prescription. If you buy them in chemist they are VERY expensive.

I've been reading this thread, and following the hunt for decent marzipan, on behalf of my hubby and eldest son, who are really missing the special christmas marzipan sweets my sister used to make for them, so she has given me the details of how to make them, but i couldn't find the flippin marzi any where, so came to the trusty old forum to see if anyone else had the same problem, did a search and found this thread, and have been hunting since for the proper stuff!

Went into our local supermarket today, (only pop in for bread, milk and sandwich meat etc, its a bit more expensive than in town!) One of the owners is from Holland, and they sell quite a range of Dutch products, so i asked if they had any 'proper' marzipan not the 'almond flavoured icing rubbish!!' The chap directed me to it and told me they had it in as a christmas special. It was $6.27 for 200g, (not sure if this was expensive or not I never bought it in the Uk)

The supermarket is called SHOPRITE, and they only have a few stores, the checkout lady told me they have one in Masterton, one in Hawera, the one i went to is at the summerhill shopping centre, Aokautere just outside Palmerston North, and she said they have just opened a store somewhere in Auckland.

I've opened the packet to taste it just for you lot, :D and it is proper stuff (yuck I hate it!)

If anyone is desparate to have some and can't get it, send me a Pm I'm sure we will be able to sort out posting some! ;)
