Incredible but we have been here one week, haven't done some of what we had hoped, but have done more than we expected.

Haven't done yet:

got the boys school organised - seeing one on friday and waiting for another to call back

opened a bank account - just waiting for the paperwork to be completed

Bought a car - waiting for bank account before going to auction.

Have done:

Ridden a mechanical bull at a rodeo night

Entered and won a pub quiz (with a lot of help from my team)

Played indoor cricket (but lost heavily)

Been to coatesville market

Been to the beach twice (but to cold to go in the sea yet)

Had an interview.

Had welcome BBQ or 2

Kim has also started work.

So as you can see we are settling in well, just another 60 years to go!!

Well sounds like you've got your priorities right to me - riding a mechanical bull is obviously the first thing EVERYONE should do on entry to NZ, much more important than frivolities like cars, schools and bank accounts. Hope the next few weeks are just as productive!

Yes Speckythecky I think you have just made a great addition to the 'what do I need to do on arrival to NZ?' question!

Can't wait for somone to ask it now. :D

Cheers

Sounds like you are having an amazing time John. The next 60 years should go by in a flash. We are envious of you being there already and in time for the beginning of summer!

What a wimp. Call yourself a man?. If a 4 yr old can strip to pants and t-shirt in her first weeks here and risk the water then I'm sure you can.

Don't think there are any delights such as a rodeo bull in the Nelson area so I'll have to skip on that one.:(

I've had my feet in, but only to rescue the rugby ball that doesn't bounce properly like a soccer ball. (or maybe I can't kick properly)

John, thought you would have stripped down and done the full bodyboard thing by now...... :laugh

Hope the school thing goes well, it's a step close to feeling settled i'm sure.

Keep us posted on your comings and goings.
