We have a policy with Barclays and we will be covered in NZ as long as we pay the premium each month. Question: how much is life insurance/critical illness cover for a husband and wife or how do I find out before in NZ? Any good companies to recommend?

We have just gone through this with the most honest, well informed guy I have ever met, recommened to me.

We pay salary cover in the event of critical illness, can't work illness for OH after 13 weeks, $188 AMP or $306 AXA that is for $6500 per month so quite a difference there we went for AMP.

Life assurance was quoted for $250,000 AMP $61.91 AXA $53.08 pm

He is 50 and non smoker.Only high blood pressure no other illness.

We did not take life cover in the end instead a one off lump if he was critically ill to tide us over. If god forbin happen to OH I would just sell up and I would move back to UK.

His name is Paul Latham Coastal finance email paul@coastalfinancial.co.nz

I suspect you took out your policies a long time ago when you were younger so maybe better to keep UK ones. Ours too cover if we move away which is great.

He quoted us for our car Insurance and told us to keep the one we had. Gave us cheap house cover though. Very thorough. I would imagine he could give you like for like if you emailed him your details of Uk policy.
