We used Trusty Car rentals in South Island and Apex in North Island. Both were excellent. We chose older model Nissan saloons which were great - reliable, economical and loads of boot space. You can make huge savings is you choose an older model and the longer the hire the cheaper the daily rate. I loved driving in NZ - Enjoy!!:nice1

Don't know about 8 seaters but I used ACE rentals back in August and they were brilliant. Courteous, helpful, efficient, fetched me from the Airport and didn't laugh at me when I had to go back into the office to ask how to drive an automatic. Good value too.
