Where can I find out what salary averages are like in NZ and whether the amounts can be lived on?

The NZ Police got back to my OH with the amounts he would earn during training and afterward. I'd like to see what the minimum amount would be that I'd need to then earn in order to live a normal lifestyle.

I don't have a link but Statistics NZ includes household income / salaries / affordability etc. Though it's maybe not that much use - it doesn't give the kind of feedback that this site does on whether / how people actually live on these salaries.
