Today , having nearly shaken off the flu bug, we at last headed out to Porter Heights for our first skiing down under:raebanana
First of all the drive out there was Awesome, the view of snow capped mountains from the flat plain though flitting clouds was a sight to behold.
Very easy drive up to ski fields, plenty of parking and as Monday it was 2 for1, result .
Clare has only done a weeks skiing before so we used the small button tow for her too rediscover her skiing legs:laugh
We ventured up a bit further via the T bar and pottered round there till coffee and rolls that we brought with us were consumed heartily.
Having fuelled up Clare carried on pottering and I ventured to the top to check it out, absolutely empty , had the piste to myself, is it called piste here?.
Caught up with Clare and decided due to very slushy conditions at the bottom we'd head for home.
Views on way home equally stunning.
All in all a very satisfactory day out, altho due it being spring like snow a bit ropey in places, but hey the slopes were empty.
Called into Moorf's on way home for excellent coffee and tour of her fantastic garden :cheers
