HI,
Hubby got qualifications assessed no problems.
I need to get mine assessed, the problem is I don't 'fit in' to a specific job role, ie, teacher, radiographer, nurse.... I have a degree and a couple of other quals...do they need to assess all quals?, and if so do I send them off as 'seperates' and have to pay a lot!! or do they just assess that I am trained to a specific level in all quals?? Am I making sense??
Help!!
Jade xx
Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind me asking, why do you need your quals assessed? Is it for an employer or enrolement to a register or PR?
I think this will make a difference. If you need your quals assessed for a job then it will be the quals relevant to that job. If you need your quals assessed for PR then it is probably best to have the highest level relevant qualification to the job you are employed in now.......but that could be wrong depending upon why you are getting your quals assessed.

Who has the best qualifications, you or Hubby? If you are putting down on EOI form then isn't it only necessary for the best qualified to put themselves as the main party? Therefore unless you are getting your qualifications assessed for a specific job I don't think you need to worry, unless of course you think you are the better qualified out of the two of you. Then again as a senior member of the forum, are you already out in NZ and need to get your qualifications assessed before you can get a job. Very new to this forum so I'm only putting down what I think I've grasped so far. Could be wrong

ooooooooooo, a 'senior member' of the forum...ha ha, Im still a complete novice:yes
Well, we have PR on hubbys qualifications, but when I have been sending my CV off here there and everywhere, they have asked if my quals are assessed through NZQA....Im presuming I can't work at the level I know work in the uk if I don't have my degree assessed????
PS_ Still in Uk
Jade
Thanks for any help!!!

Jade,
you can send all your quals off together for assessment, and only pay for one assessment - it may take a little longer. Other people on the forum have said that they have never been asked for proof of quals when applying for jobs. If you are doing something in teaching then you would need to register for the teachers council and they require NZQA assessment. Similarly for radiographers and nurses and a wide range of trades but if you are going for a job that does not have registration requirements then NZQA may not be required (unless specific employers request it)
hope that helps
