It's true, one week from today, Jake and I will be on our way from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. We'll be shipping our motor bike from there, and then spending some time with our families who live in the area. Then the following Wednesday (9/19), we fly to Auckland! We're so excited! The time has really flown, but things are nearly sorted out and are coming together smoothly. That is unless something tragic happens, to keep us from going (I have to say that to reverse the jinx). :o

We've sold nearly all of our possessions, save a few expensive and sentimental items (in the care of family members) that we'll most likely need in the future. We sold our car (a decent VW Golf). We have a renter in our condominium. We quit our jobs, finalized the Visa requirements, booked a hotel for our arrival, and have a farewell party arranged.

This will be our first time moving out of our home country, especially one we've never visited. The most difficult part will be saying goodbye and being so far away from our families. Although we'll stay in contact, we'll miss them. But we must do this!! The climbing areas are calling to us (in case I haven't mentioned, Jake and I are avid rock-climbers).

We hope to meet some of you once we arrive. We'll be sure to at least post feedback on how the move goes, although I'm not certain what the internet connection situation will be like. We will be clueless afterall. :laugh

Wish us luck! YAY!

Have a safe flight and I'll give my standard advice to grab an empty row on the plane so you can relax on the flight. Post back when you get here and let us know how it's going.

Ha ha, I'll be thrilled if we get the chance. I cross my fingers that the flight isn't full. :) I'll be sure to post as soon as I have an opportunity.
