Hi all, just a quick note to say that after a year here we are so convinced it was the right moves if just for the kids schooling.
In the UK, if you did well you were picked of for basically being a swot, or a keano as it was labelled and thus uncool. So mediocrity was the best the kids strived for in fear of being picked on. Now I can't speak for other NZ schools but at Burnside, we have found that if you do well other kids admire that, and hence our kids have blossomed academically....what a refreshing change!

Oh that's good to know puts your mind at rest doesn't it. My son is at Beckenham Primary chch and his report from his teacher was really good we have only been here 4 months and he is doing really well so far fingers crossed it continues. It's such a worry anyway but even more so after such a big move so it's great to see them not only having fun but actually enjoying learning in the classroom.
