So right now I have an EOI submitted. 120 points no job offer and so on. Problem is my skills are on the Immediate Skill Shortage List (the one broken down by region). To be selected (it seems) with under 140 points one needs to have skills on the Absolute Skill Shortage List.

Here is my dilemma. My husband could submit an EOI with him as the Primary applicant and his skills *are* on the ASSL.
So what should I do?
Can I edit mine so he is the primary applicant and resubmit?
Should he submit one of his own?
Should I just be patient?
:wah

We're going in early April 2008 no matter what (ok we won't be going if we can't sell the house by then--but still!) and I'm trying to make the process less scary by having the PR process *somewhat* underway.

Hi Bky. With 120 points and on the ISSL you do stand a good chance of getting selected, so if you've already submitted your EOI, why not wait and see? Was there a reason you decided to go as Principle applicant in the first place?

Mainly because my husband was finishing his degree when I submitted. With my qualification and years of experience it looked as if I would have more points as well.

It's also a bit tricky since he has experience also on the ASSL as well as a qualification...but they are in different things. Not sure if we can put them both down.

I'm thinking with the past several months of selection trends that he may have a better chance of selection than I do. Having a qualification on the ISSL will certainly help me get a job, but it doesn't seem to be getting us picked. :o

How long have you been waiting, Becky?
