Anyone have websites they use to watch American sports? I am missing the college football season.

Cheers

I work with a septic tank who's into american football. I'll see if he can give any pointers. He's been here 15 years though, so might be out of the habit. Can but ask.

I really want to watch some NHL hockey. Someone told me that they are setting something up to be able to watch it through the internet through their family's TV in Canada. But I forget how it works. Anyone know?

Yes Howie,
What you need is called a Sling-box (www.slingmedia.com)
I’m experimenting with one at the moment, it’s basically pretty good. The box costs about £125, plugs into the mains and a broadband connection, you then use it to control and view live (or recorded) TV. Their website, explains it all. I have done quite a lot of research on this subject, there are other devices available but the Slingbox is by far the best, (IN MY OPINION). It is actually a US company although I have no experience of using it US to NZ. However it works well UK to NZ.
Any questions, just ask
James

in the uk i used a website called asiaplate which i think is predominatly a betting site but if you follow the links you can download a p2p network and away you go.ppmate was one of the better ones i used it to watch any uk football from other countries and also the odd movie which wasnt yet released.I think its the type of website you can pay for on ebay .

I'm told by my Americanh colleague that ESPNLIVE is the website to go to for sports coverage.

Haven't tried it, but am told it is good.

Enjoy

I know this thread is a few months old but I thought I'd reveal my research I've been doing lately on this very topic.

I'm moving to Queenstown in a few months and the two biggest concerns of mine were how to watch college football and how to ship my dog! lol

You can watch ESPN and ABC telecasts via ESPN's Gameplan online available here (http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index)

To watch the CBS telecasts (SEC games) and a wide variety of other conferences you can stream them via CSTV's XXL service (owned by CBS) by subscribing here (http://www.cstv.com/xxl/).

You can also go directly to a particular school's website and usually be able to PPV games. I'm going to do that for Hawaii football games.

I hope this helps others in the future,
Cheers.

Hey all,

I am also a big American sports fan and ESPN on Sky shows loads of NFL/NBA/MBL/NHL (and MLS if anyones interested in it!!haha) ... They also show college football every week (I've just been watching the Gators Vs Vanderbilt in my lunch hour at home!)....

On top of the live games and recorded games they also show all the talk show broadcasts like Pardon The Interruption, Around The Horn, Sportscenter etc...

You may find some of the games/shows will be on in the middle of the day etc but we've just had MySky installed so I'm filling my hard drive up with NFL and college games at the mo!

Incidentally, I'm a Titans fan so things are all rosy at the moment! :bluebanana

Hope this helps??!!!!.....
