:raebanana last thursday my mum decided she is coming to NZ in mid-october, bringing my 83years old grandma with her :raebanana
They were so desperate to see new their grandson/great grandson...poor dad will be staying behind till he got his next holiday available:(
Their request is I need to hire portable mobility scooter for my grandma, I know I can hire one in visitor places, malls and supermarket etc but we need one for when we are out and about, like visit sumner beach, lincoln etc.
Anyone had experience on hire mobility scooter? where I can get one from?
Thanks

I would contact local branch of CCS and ask them (or ask at your local CAB).
CCS is New Zealand’s leading provider of support and services to people with physical disabilities. It is also a leading advocate for the rights of disabled people. CCS Website (http://www.ccsdisabilityaction.org.nz/)
They should be able to put you in touch with a local rental agent.
If you are not already aware, scooters can be quite large and due to the batteries and motors very heavy, so you need to consider if it will fit in the car and if you will need ramps to get it in the car.

Thanks for info, I will contact them asap. I am aware of different type of mobility scooters as my grandma had used them for over 10 years. I hope they have a lightweight portable type like my grandma got one so my mum able to put in her car boot as doesn't take much room or too heavy...finger crossed! :nice1

The other thing you could try is contacting ACC.
They provide equipment to help out accident victims so would prob know where to get these scooters from.
