:) Ok is it just me or does the EOI want everything but bust, waist and hip measurements?(or does that come next):wah
This really is for UK residents or ex-UK residents (I'm not being anti-other countries or anything it's just that I want specifics on British paperwork/forms)
Question 1 -Where on earth on your Birth Cerfificate is the number you need?
I've got a number at the top and a number at the bottom on all family birth certificates. I think it is the one at the top because the one at the bottom also has letters in? Am I right in my assumption?
Question 2-The Issuing authority - is this The District or sub district or the actual person that registered the birth?
Question 3- When filling in for current employer- as a teacher do I put in the County who employs me or the school?
Question 4- I think Taxation number is -my national Insurance number? yes/no?
Question 5-Social Security Number-Do I have one if I'm employed? Where do I find it otherwise.
Question 6-Am I just thick? (Don't answer that bit) The NZ people seem to think it will take approximately 2 hours to fill in the EOI. Well I've just done that and I'm still only about half way through.
Phew! Thanks just had to get all of that off my chest. I would be hugely obliged for all relevant and informative answers to my lengthy questions.

Birth Certificate no is the one at the top
Issuing authority is district / sub district
Employer for teachers is the county
For taxation no and social security you can se your NI no. (you should have a National Health no for your social security but not many people know it)
No
It doesn't take long if you know what you are looking for, but some of the q's don't help
Good Luck

Hi there! speckytheckys already answered your questions , but I think nz '2 hours' is a joke to prevent you being put off - took me hours to fill in - searching for all info - and then days ... due to OH delaying me by letting his passport lapse!! & then weeks plucking up courage to send it (also strggled with OHs birth cert as he was born in india, so totally different from ours!
good luck!

Took me weeks to complete too. I remember looking at the green completion line and thinking, "no, surely I haven't got that much left to do".

Took us ages too. Not helped by the fact that the fields were easy to change by simply scrolling your mouse across the top of the field. Thought we had completed it twice only to find it said incomplete on the front page....
Glad that is done with.

Speckythecky-how can you contain so much relevant information in to a human brain. Either that or I just have a brain the size of a pea. Thanks a bunch. Going to copy and paste your answers so my brain doesn't need to retain the information because I'm already beginning to implode with all the things I'm trying to work out, think through and panic about.
I'm still glad of any helpful hints in filling out this XXXXXX form.

The bit I'm finding confusing is the online form section E 'Skilled Employment'. Question E1 is easy, I have an offer of skilled employment in New Zealand. Cool. On to the next page - which is all about your work IN NZ, and says
"If you have not worked in New Zealand you should not complete any of section E in this form."
Errrm, excuse me. How do I get the points for my offer of employment then? I note that this form of words isn't on the printed EOI form which is otherwise identical. Any clues, or am I just being dense?

You should click on "Offer of Employment" and points will be awarded for that.
Don't worry about the work in NZ. Just leave that empty.
I see another question coming in case you are claiming points for recognized qualifications ;-) Thats a little tricky too..... And yes these few problems are only with the latest online version of the EOI....... Bad luck i guess
Just Ask , in case you are troubled by this online thingee again... :-)

That sort of worked, but

The section shows as uncompleted - E2 to E5 have mandatory fields - can it be submitted without filling them in?

Is this the F3a and F4a confusing form of words? My degree is on the list so it's a yes to F3a (level 7), and it hasn't been individually assessed (shouldn't need to be) so a no to F4a.
It's not the world's most brilliantly designed form. Did they actually test it out on real people first? Seems hard to believe.
Just Ask , in case you are troubled by this online thingee again... :-)
Don't worry... I will.:)

So it states something like this;
E2. Tell us about your main employment in New Zealand
What is your main occupation in New Zealand?
Please enter part or all of your job name in the search box below to return a list of matching occupations and click the search button. Then select the one that most closely matches your occupation. Or you can view the full list to find the occupation yourself.
-
Selected Value: 12219 Engineering Technical Manager
PLEASE NOTE: Your main occupation in New Zealand is the job you spent the most hours doing while in New Zealand. If you have not worked in New Zealand you should not complete any of section E in this form.
Now donot worry about the Note, just select your closest occupation as in your offer, complete the next industry question, and state why your job is skileed. Its a little confusing 'cz the same set of questions hold for job offer, in job for less than 12 months and in job for more than 12 months.
Yes F3 and F4 is correct. And also F2a and F10. Note that you only need to complete F10 if your recognized degree was completed in NZ.
So if that is not the case your responses would be:
F7. Have you studied full-time in New Zealand towards a New Zealand recognised qualification for two years or more?
No
F8. Do you have a recognised basic New Zealand qualification?
No
F9. Do you have a recognised post-graduate New Zealand qualification?
No
Hope this helps.

OK, thanks.

Yes, it was confusing at first, but I finally worked it out!
Hope this helps.
Indeed it does. I assume I'm also right that if my only traffic offence is a parking ticket about 12 years ago I can cheerfully answer 'No' to B11 (Have you ever been convicted or found guilty of any offence(s) against the law in any country) and B13 (Have you ever been charged with any offence against the law in any country)?

Glad to see it's not just me having difficulty filling out EOI. Please if you know of any other questions that might prove tricky for the less logically challenged please reply with a thread to warn us before we get in another panic. So if you've already sent EOI and got in, please share your good fortune, so we don't make a complete pigs ear of it and get thrown back in the pool, ready to slowly sink to the bottom of the murky depths.

That's just what I was feeling! The paper one seems more straightforward somehow.

Seconded.
