Sorry to bore people with an incredibly dull question but what are the leg-lengths like on women's trousers in NZ?
I'm currently trying to ration my clothes etc into 20kg and was only going to bring one pair of jeans but just realised there might be a problem buying 34" leg jeans in NZ - its not that easy in the UK!
Does anyone have any idea about this?
Cheers

For jeans it is not a problem - your problem will be with other trousers.
Hardly impossibly to find suits with long trousers - unless you want to buy European made for $1,000 or more.

I also got 34" inside leg, I have not yet buy any trouser in NZ but my midwife is also tall, so I managed to get info from her. It is not easy to find long trouser, it is case of you need to shop around till you know which shops have clothes for tall people. Do you know where you going? that I can ask my midwife for list of shops in christchurch that sell long trousers (which I will do)
Oh yes, there is NEXT, (my favourite british clothes shop) in Auckland!!! Found inside "Dresssmart" outlet near Auckland airport. Last year I brought "extra-long" trouser there ;)

Yes, you can find long trousers, also in Wellington, as I said, but it really depends whether you need something casual or something more dressed up.
And the latter is really a problem. I know quite a few ladies you take shopping trips to Melbourne/Sydney because of this problem.
So, stock up in the UK/US/Europe wherever you are and you will be fine for a very long time. I am very happy I shopped a bit before leaving for NZ.

I wouldn't get too upset Sophia. I went in there and was very disappointed. If it was Next stuff then it was reject stuff. I didn't see much in there that reminded me of Next stuff in the UK :exit . But Dressmart has some fabulous shops - def worth a visit anyway.

oh geez. I forgot about this.
I'll bet 36" inseams are impossible to find in women's pants, much less size 12 women's shoes (in the US... I don't know how they size them in NZ).
Any ideas or will I just have to buy mens clothing to find something to wear when I get there?

You could always order stuff from Long Tall Sally (UK based)...I believe they will post stuff overseas.

Just came across tall by design (http://www.tallbydesign.co.nz/) which is NZ based.
Might be useful?

Thanks Ian; just had a quick look at that site - not bad!! Pants in 34" and 37.5", and also a link to a shoe site for 'longer feet' so looks like you might be OK too Liz (size 12 in US seems to be the same as NZ)

Yes indeed, the sizes are great - I have come across this website before. But have a look at the materials that are used for the clothes, that's not really what I would prefer. I came across the same in the Long Legs women's shop in Wellington, called 'De Nada', for you tall women, but same story, the materials used did not appeal to me, unfortunately.
So, I keep on searching, searching ........
Cheers,
Anita
