Today is our 1st anniversary :clap

I cannot believe how quick it has gone, so we are obviously doing something right.

I feel we have settled in really well, brought a house within 5 weeks of been here(the plan was rent for 6 months) but we just felt it was the right place to be & the children would be able to settle & get routined again.

My 5 year old daughter is settled in her school with more friends than me now:yes . But I have made quite a few & seem to make more as time goes on. The children have even gained a foster nanny who they love seeing. (one of my friends mum who has taken them under her nanny wing spoiling them)

The children have swimming lessons once a week, being so close to the sea thought it would be a good idea. Started taking my little boy (2) Last Friday to a toddler gym which was great for gaining even more confidence & been even more fearless than he already was.(lol)

Husband is settled nicely into his job he has been working for 10 months now, he is really chilled & laid back now with the whole weekends to ourselves.

We even have an invite for a traditional kiwi Christmas BBQ which we are looking foward to not long now. So stocking on whenever Woolworths have a wine sale, unfortunately just gives me another excuse to open a few when we have guests. (I'm sure I 'm not the only one :o )

Today the sun is shining its lovely & warm couldn't think of a nicer place to be than where we are today.

The down side (not many) is no visits yet (but mil & fil coming out in Jan for 3 weeks) yipee the babysitters arrive :D

Still do miss my friends & family but I suppose we can't have everything.

So before you all fall asleep with little essay I will finish.

What a wonderful post, just the kinda stuff I like to hear! :clap You sound so chilled, relaxed and happy with your new life. We hadn't really got a definite plan on how long we would rent for but have also puchased a house within 6 weeks of my landing (OH here a little longer) - just felt like the right thing to do.

We're missing babysitters too, not just the grandparents but also those close friends who lived nearby and only 'cost' a bottle of red wine to sit for the evening - have fun going out just the two of you.

Happy Emigration Day!
Anneliese
