Has anyone shipped a scooter/moped back to the uk? Does it go in the container with the furniture, does it need any special treatment/paperwork etc etc. It is new from the showroom but being used to go to work on so I dont anticipate any problems with it function wise.
Hope that makes sense :laugh :laugh

This link may be useful for you:-Bringing your belongings (http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageImport_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_000282&propertyType=document)
Section 5.1 looks particularly relevant, assuming you have been out of the UK for at least 12 months?
I you will need to register the vehicle in the UK and I assume that the speedometer is in Kph, which should be changed (although you may get away with it) - buy law the speedometer has to be imperial.
I would assume that it can be transported in the container along with everything else, although the movers may want to make a crate for it?

I don't think you'll have to paint the crate bright yellow though (unless you want to)
It still makes me giggle thinking of Dan purched atop a lemon blancmonge on his way to the cop shop.
