Do you find that you have no peace at weekends?
This weekend for me....
Friday - work, bank appointment, entertain/feed/lodge Louisa's schoolfriend,
Saturday - hand friend back over to her parents, drop kids at golf course. go to Hamilton shopping for bits and pieces, come back, collect kids from golf course, deliver kids to friends for party and sleepover, go to Hamilton for meal (phew)
Sunday, got to collect kids from party, Kieran mowing the lawn, Louisa on trampoline and in the spa, turns into drinkies and BBQ, kids in spa (again), watch cricket, come home to start packing for move....... get the idea??
Now the kids are missing again, one going to Rotovegas tomorrow, other one is doing something or other with a friend!!!
So how did you spend your peaceful NZ weekend???
Now where did that beer go... :laugh

We're ski-ing this weekend, and we're off somewhere every weekend pretty much. So much to do! I'm a bit of a slack parent and like to have fun as well at weekends, so the kids usually tag along (and seem to enjoy it!). Even more places to go here than there was in Cornwall!

Mowed lawns, cut down some trees, went to auction to look at cars, went to friends for fush and chups to meet someone who might be able to get me a job - Thats Saturday done
Sunday - went to Waiheke Island on the ferry, sat on the beach. Then went to play indoor cricket, but game cancelled due to no umpire so had a barbie, now watching Dr Who

Saturday - 2nd trip up to Farmers Market at Matakana, then Matakana Country Park for son to have a play and also a bite of lunch, long way round to Leigh Sawmill then back to Auckland via the scallop & Oyster man at the car park at Waiwera.
Sunday - lie-in for me, church for OH & son then off to Wairau Park to look at sofas. Lunch out at Nando's, more sofa searching, ice cream at Burger King. In the afternoon OH went to bed for a 'nap', son vegged out in front of the TV, I did the washing up and lots of reading of posts here on the Forum as it decided to pee it down with rain! About to sit down to watch Dr Who with a nice glass of red.
Now all I need to do is fill the rest of son's school holidays with fun things - at least he has a swimming lesson every day this coming week to look forward to.

Well, we have one lie in each (as AJ gets up at around 6.30 these days!), Saturdays tend to be free days nothing planned. Sometimes its shopping, occasionally visiting folks, or going to the beach, or out for lunch somewhere. Sometimes a family outing to the Zoo or something. Gardenign gets fitted in too.
Sunday is mountainbiking for hubby, and me and AJ generally go to the Zoo, Kellys or MOTAT, although we had his little friend round today for a play date.
Sunday afternoons are heading into a couple of beers and BBQ territory with the improvement in the weather (this afternoon excepted!)
Anneliese, school holidays are a bit of a pain for us too, although AJ is not even two yet, he has so much on during the week in term time, and suddenly it all stops! We just have to entertain ourselves, luckily there is a group of us that hang out together, so we just swap round whose house we visit, or which park we go to, or yet more visits to the zoo! good job AJ likes animals :laugh

Saturday - brekkie in Oxford, walked dogs down Waimakariri Gorge on way back where we found a sprint-boat meet going on so watched that in awe for a while. Headed back, heated up spa, cleaned windows while hubby chopped and pruned, dug over 2 veggie patches and pruned a bit more of the vineyard, cracked open wine/beer, popped in spa, slobbed all evening.
Sunday - Got up late, raining, went to mud-plug, got soaked so didn't stay long, went home, lit fire, tidied house and then watched old movies and real crime all afternoon! No spa 2nite, it's being shocked! Oh, more wine... *hic*
Priceless..... :D
Next weekend... AUCKLAND!! :p

This weekend was reasonably quiet - a trip down to Ohakune on Friday night and a few drinks in the Powderkeg. Up the mountain all day Saturday snowboarding. More drinks and a meal out in the evening. Back up the mountain for half day on Sunday morning, then back down to clean up the bach, lunch and the long drive back to Auckland.

Fri night, chillin with a dry martini then got phonecall to say Dan had an accident at work and was in A&E. Sat morning shipped kids to a friend and spent all day in hospital with Dan and waitied for him to have an op on his injury. Sun got Dan home and run after him and the kids all day, phew!!!
I shall resist describing his injury due to it being a bit gruesome, however he is ok and he has posted a piccy of it on our blog. PLEASE DO NOT look if u r squeemish, you have been warned!

Amanda, that looks so nasty! I'm glad that with you being a nurse you're not as squeamish as some people (my dad accidentally partially severed a finger once and he knew better than to show my Mum)
But I'm glad the tendons are ok and that he shouldn't lose much strength.
My weekend was still in the UK: Work on Saturday, carboot on Sunday. I'll be so much happier to get in a land of garage sales so the buyers come to me rather than me having to head over to them.

His colleague wrapped his arm up and blue lighted him to a&e where he sat for 6hrs waitin on a bed and was operated on by plastics on sat.
