Oh my goodness, I feel like a huuugggeee weight has been lifted, I told my boss today. He was extremely nice about it...I explained about the house sale, and that it isnt complete yet and that was the only thing that would keep us here, and he said that I can give a shorter notice period so that we know the house has sold, he was so supportive and understanding.

So I haven't put it in writing yet, but he knows I'm going, so at least I've got an excuse for not going on the Xmas do now!!

So,another milestone down!!!!!!!!!!!:clap

Oh yes, he said can he come for a holiday!!

Well done Jade it does feel better when it's out in the open.:nice1

I told a 3-4 mates (well I thought they were :( ) in work and some how it spread like wild fire until I was called into my managers office and asked when was I leaving!!!!!

It was not fun, but she was very supportive and asked if she could come and stay with us for a holiday!!!

ooooooo Heidi, what a nightmare...I was really dubious telling anyone at work, but I did tell 2 friends and thankfully it didn't 'come out' until I announced it...Im glad your manager was ok in the end.

Im just thinking about how I said it to my boss today, and I just announced it like I was saying I was popping to the shops for some milk...I went all around the houses explaining, I was handing notice in, when I wanted to leave, thanking him for opportunity etc etc etc, and he said, 'so where are you going then???'...and I said 'oh yes, Im going to New Zealand in just over 7 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

It's a great feeling isn't it!!! I remember everyone where I worked was in shock that I would just quit and move to the otherside of the world. Now they all want to come and visit.

Enjoy!!! :raebanana :raebanana

Good stuff. It's a great feeling once it goes 'official' isn't it ?

I had the opposite problem. I'd told my manager I was going through the process for ages, but he didn't seem to believe I would actually go - he kept giving me projects to run and work that would help me with a promotion case etc.

I think he was genuinely surprised when one day I stopped him in mid-flow about a new piece of work and handed him a letter.....

Still, it felt good.

Enjoy the feeling
