Hi all,

I made it, I'm finally a member. I was reading all the time and thought I should join. Here I am.

I live with my partner Peter between Te Hana, Wellsford and Port Albert. We came to New Zealand 8 years ago and became proud Kiwis in May 2004. We gave up our old citizenship(Germany is not allowing dual citizenship, fine with us:raebanana) and we love this country. There was no going back.

It is so easy to be happy, a short walk at the beach, a walk through in a Kauri park.... what do you want more. Yes, I gave away a good payed job, we were short on money in the beginning, where to go to start, but we made it. We never could effort to have this lifestyle in Germany.
We moved to the countryside 5 years ago and we love it, we want to become real farmers.
We have our property on the market, somebody interested? :)

I was working in rag trade since I was 13years old and now(medium old), I'm farming. Gosh, it is so good. Nobody tells you off when you want to try something new, nobody ask for a master degree, man it is so good to live in paradise.

I was working here in New Zealand for six years in rag trade. Now I do spinning and weaving and flax weaving. Just for fun!!!
I hope that everybody becomes as happy as we are.

Cheers:cheers

Welcome to the forum Lilo and great to hear you sound so contented. What a beautiful property you're selling - are you looking for more land then if you want to farm properly?

Yes, we want more land. We currently looking in the Far North for properties. We want to raise calves and have more milking goats and more Angoras. The goats are such lovely animals. And the price for the fibre is good, between $5 for stained fibre and $35 for kid mohair the kilo, compared to $2.8 for a kilo wool from the sheep. And then... goats have these practical handles:laugh
No, goats have a lovely nature. Some of them are like a dog, they always want a cuddle and are rub. They are spoiled!

We have had an offer on property but the owner sold it twice and left the country, going to Australia without telling us. We have been left with solicitor costs and no property. And on the second property we put an offer in they decided after 26 days, no we want more money for it. So we are still looking for the right place, somebody out there who want to sell?:wah

Thanks for your welcome J & G! Hope that you find your dream home!

Welcome to the forum, Lilo, and good luck with finding the bigger place!

Germany is not allowing dual citizenship

They do now, but you sound far too content to want to try to get it back :)
