Hello to everyone on the ENZ site.
Firstly, we're new to this forum stuff so if we make errors that make us look like a couple of planks we apologise and can only blame the immigration service for having let us in!
We'd been looking at NZ as a place to retire to because we couldn't see a way of breaking out of the UK "live to work" lifestyle for about 20 years or so but circumstances and, very fortunately, "she who must be obeyed" having a Kiwi for a father have allowed us to bring everything forward by a couple of decades.
She went over in July to have a look at properties just to get an idea of what we could afford and B@*$^r me if she didn't ring up and inform me that she had bought a farm in Wellsford. That is the last time I let her loose with the cheque book!(famous last words obviously).
We too are therefore going to provide all the local farmers with much amusement as we learn to drive sheep, milk tractors and shear cattle for some time to come.
Seriously though, we hope to be able to make a go of it and become productive members of our new adoptive country.
Good luck to everyone else doing the same thing.
Any advice to newbies would be welcome.
