Having a similar reaction to the one Homer Simpson has when he thinks about/sees food. I could soooooooo live there! All I want is an opportunity to prove that money couldn't make me happy! :laugh

Fantastic views......but by the look of those ceilings, I bet the bedrooms are freezing in winter.

Oh dear, those mirrors in the dining room broke the deal for me!! :no :p

Nice pad though!

Hadn't even spotted those! I guess its so even the guests with their back to the view can still see it. Kind of like "We paid $6 million for this place so if you are in my house you will look at the view!!!".

So if just you, me and 30 others chip in we could afford it - its a plan!

:laugh Thats exactly the kind of thing I'd say, along with "You might have the sea views but, oooh the I bet the wind will blow through it, being on such an exposed site"

I want that retro gear - and that padded orange pad on the wall would look FAB in our house! And I'm being serious!

Looks like something out of a Pulp music vid...

Lol the orange padded thing!! What... is it??? :D

Do you have a retro house Moorf?

I have just offered on a 1960s house which has not been touched since it was built, the carpet (orange & brown etc) is in great nick and I don't want to to change it until it wears out, despite comments from all my friends & family who have seen it so far... :laugh

If everyone had modified old villas we wouldn't have anything original from that era any more... so even though the 60s aren't that appreciated right now, maybe I will be doing the era a good turn if I keep it as original... :D

It is a big place, but it's literally next door to Hutt Valley Highschool. :exit

The house itself though, most of it I find a bit :uhoh, but I really like the office. Very cool, very... Jason King. The stairs are pretty funky too. I think it'd make a great house if you kept the retro feel but brought it up to date. Couple of hundred thousand on top of the price, or a lot of DIY fun. The RV is 960.

Do you have a retro house Moorf?

Pretty much! A 1976 original - unique as designed by the architect builder/owner! Unique isn't always "good" but we do love whacky! I've been collecting retro furniture here and there where I can find it cheap (yeah, right!) and have become a bit of a 'fat lava' fanatic! :o

To give you an idea there are a couple of pics on my blog, down the page on http://leggattnz.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Not bad for someone who "hates" new houses (new in the UK being anything over 150 yrs old for me :D )

@ Moorf: wow the tower!!! :)

Retro furniture is expensive - as in you would think it wouldn't be, because it's not that old! There is a shop here in Welly, in Newtown, called Gawjus Things and that has loads of furniture like we had at home when I was little, it's great! All the 70s suites with the wooden arms... I don't recall them being all that comfortable but they do look great :D Anyway they're all quite pricey really. :|

Not really a "dream house" ... but if we ever make it to Welly... this would be a great little place! ... it's WAY out of our price range here... but maybe we could afford it there!

Ah Karori. This is a new build right at the top end so it's quite a way to the shops, and even the bus stop so I'm told. Also that end of Karori is supposed to be quite misty and damp....just what I've heard, I'm sure other will shoot me down. Lower Karori (nearer the city) is supposed to be nice though. ....
...oh and last time I looked this one was still a building site!

hehe, had a look at some of the houses on the 1st page that are STILL for sale, if they are on the market for long enough it doesn't just have to be a dream;)

Fantastic houses! Make the UK ones look pretty dated. If they're still for sale guess the NZ market is as good as the UK? We gave up trying to sell our house after a year and rented it out instead!

So not sure would be able to buy over there, although dream houses look reachable esp. if still for sale after yrs!

Catt - you are only up the road in Luton, we are in Hitchin arriving Auckland Jan 10th! Good luck.
