... with the lovely Dr Smith in Manchester. I rather wish he was my GP!
It took an hour for hubby, myself and little'un, and was straightforward (if more detailed than I had expected). It then took another hour to queue up for the x-rays, and wait to make sure they had come out ok, before paying and leaving.

It was all a bit stressful first thing. I'd decided that we'd take the train to Mcr instead of driving (the M62 is a car park first thing!), and we arrived in plenty of time at the station, but were held up by a woman who couldn't get the carpark machine to give her a ticket... honestly we were waiting 5 minutes, and as we ran onto the platform our train was pulling out... thankfully the next one was on time and we just made it for our 8:30 appointment.

Hubby was terrified that his BP would be too high (he has high BP anyway), but amazingly it was normal. His waist measurement was a bit too high, but we'd both fasted and he was able to have the secondary blood test without having to come back.
Dr Smith was lovely! He has a great manner, and a good sense of humour, and I would recommend him to anyone for the medical. He was good with little'un as well - since he is only 7, he didn't need the blood test or x-ray.

Now we sit and wait for the results to come back.... more nail biting for a week or so...

Our NZ medical GP was lovely too (and a Wellingtonian!)

You'll be crossing your fingers many times in this process - good luck,

Andrea
