Finally that day has come when I can once more curl up on a sofa, drinking wine out of a real wine glass as opposed to sitting on a camping chair slurping out of a plastic beaker!
Stuff (apart from 40!!! boxes to be inspected by MAF) all arrived today. NZ Van Lines were great - 3 guys who were great with littl'un and even gave her a ride in the truck at the end - she was so chuffed! They even unpacked some of her boxes of toys for her.
I'm definitely having one of these tonight :cheers
Ooh forgot to say - I also have a real bed plus my lovely, cosy feather duvet. I'll be as snug as a bug in a rug tonight!
Absolutely knackered after doing lots of unpacking today so that bed will be most welcome. :nice1

Enjoy the wine and the bed! Is OH still away?? Has he missed all the chaos?

Lucky you! Enjoy! Our stuff has arrived in the country and we are booked in for delivery next Friday (settle on house next Thursday) but it all depends on customs and MAF...
Talking of our stuff we had an interesting time... we went groupage with Allied Pickfords and were told it was on the ship called Housten Express. Soooo.. as you do, we've been tracking said ships progress, when it headed up into the South China sea, stopped, then seemed to be heading back to the UK just a week before the date we were told our stuff would arrive you can imagine our reaction. Turns out that our container changed ship twice and had arrived in the country the night before I rang Allied Pickfords to find out what the heck was going on... can't tell you the relief we felt!!
Oh the joys of moving half way around the world! :laugh

Just wait til you've unpacked a few more boxes and start thinking "why did I bring that?". We had this massive clearout but still ended up with so much stuff. :roll

I watched our stuff go back and forth across the English channel for two weeks before the removal co figured I'd been given the wrong container number and ship name. :laugh
