I was wondering how old people are in this forum? Some of you won't want to answer - that's fine, others won't mind. Well may as well start off with me; I'm 25. Please vote if you want to..... it's a curiosity thing.

OK, I'm 35 and my daughter is 11 (12 in April), going on 21.

off topic....I have applied to a couple of jobs through seek. Is it customary for them to send applications to fill out? One sent an automated reply, one personal reply and the last one was a personal reply with an application to fill out. Is this a good sign or am I just being too hopeful?

Hi everyone, interesting poll!

I will be turning 40 in about a month and the wife will play catch up 3 months later.

We will be migrating with our 2 children. Our son just turned six, 2 months ago but is at an age where the world is not on his side. Our daughter will be four in April but we think there is a 94 year old trapped in there somewhere!

Despite all that age gap, we are a wonderful family!

Cheers,

I must remember to give Pleccy a clip round the ear when I see him.

Until this thread started I felt quite 'young and sprightly'.

At 41 I feel like one of the 'oldies'.

I guess it's the nature of the immigration beast that makes the 30's an average age.

Glad to see hubby and I are in the majority!

I am 37--38 in March and like Jo, feel in my early 20's until I look in the mirror and think,"who the H*$# is that old fart?"
Mike-35--Yes, another Boy Toy--thought I would be able to control him if he was younger---has not happened and he still acts 18!
Derrick-14
Tanner-12
Olivia-4 going on 14
Lexie- 2 in March

Don't ask me what we were thinking with the last two--actually we weren't!! Thought we were immune by that time! And we were almost home free by age ages 42 & 40!!!

With all of us in the middle of mid-life crisis or on the verge of it, will it be safe in NZ??? :eek

(thyroid thing is awful. i was on thyroid meds for ages before i dropped it after a stupid 'scare' similar to mmr. when i got preg again i knew enough to get back on but hey, the nhs doc didn't. interesting experience)

I think this is an appropriate post here...

Do you realise that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half You're four and a half, going on five!

That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! . He TURNED; we had to throw him out There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!! You are only as old as you think you are!

Moorf
18th January 2005, 04:50 PM
I was going to add that you're only as young as the man you feel.. but that would make me older than I really am :laugh
